Repurposing vintage is HOT right now! Actually the whole concept of taking a found object and making it into something decorative or useful has been around for years. As a young married back in the 80's, I remember taking round metal cheese graters and putting them over candles to create primitive ambience for my kitchen table. Anything I could find cheap at Flea Markets or Tag Sales was not immune to my artistic redo's. Still to this day when I'm out vintage hunting I'm usually trying to visualize how I can creatively use a treasure I pick up.
Such was the case with my recent find~
I bought this white metal piece from an Antique dealer friend who told me it had been an Amish stove at one time. Just perfect to use as a "make do" wine cooler to hold bottles of wine I thought. There were empty holes in the top that once held the stove burners so I had to find containers to fit the spaces. I used three metal sapp buckets and placed them into the holes and created my repurposed wine cooler. I had a recent BBQ party in my backyard and it was quite the hit of the night~
