Vintage prop hunting and gathering is what I've been doing the better part of my life. Being able to incorporate those prop finds in my business over the years is one of the reasons I love what I do. So with this post I am starting a series on vintage prop hunting. Showing you where, when and how I go about locating and using the props I find.
Vintage Props-Brown and White Transferware Dishes~ In this project I was doing a book photo shoot for Need'l Love Company. Since the quilt was the main focus of the shoot, the dishes were used sparingly. The warm color and pattern of the transferware is subtle enough to combine with the homespun feel of the quilt. Found over the years at various estate and garage sales. Price $2-$15 per piece or stack.
Vintage Prop- Primitive Wood Tool Tote~Love, Love anything that has lots of compartments or cubbies. Another photo styling project for the Need'l Love book, these were darling hand stitched strawberry pincushions. Since there were several, I decided to use this old tool tote to showcase the beautiful fabrics. Tote found in Ozark, Missouri at Riverview Antique Center. Price-$12
