Girlfriends, we all have them and we all love them. We have the ones we would trust in letting us know if that stray hair above our upper lip is glistening a little too much. Or the ones that let us know if those No Roll Hanes just aren’t getting the job done that day. But we also have the Girlfriends that can make us laugh and at the same time know when we need a comforting shoulder to cry on. This week I am heading south to the beautiful Ozarks with some Girlfriends that would do all the above for me in a heartbeat. For the last 15 years, a group of my Girlfriends and I take a road trip usually in the fall. We gather to talk about the previous year and eat, shop, but mostly laugh. Over the last year, our group has suffered some tragic life events so this trip might be sprinkled with a few tears. We will be staying in Shelly (my niece’s) condo on lovely Table Rock Lake the first night. Then early Friday morning we are heading even further south to Eureka Springs, Arkansas aka the Little Switzerland of the Ozarks. We will be staying at Meringue Cottage, tucked back in the hills. Just the name sounds delightful; it is furnished in all creams and whites. I will be sure to post pictures for you to look atJ
Another Girlfriend I have to tell you about is Deb who I am sure some of you already know as the owner of the beautiful Curious Sofa boutique. Deb and I are junking buddies and she has to be without a doubt one of the most creative visionaries that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Her retail business wisdom is remarkable and her passion for Curious Sofa is evident when you step inside the doors. When we get together we usually don’t take a breath talking about business and design. Last week we had lunch together and she gave me this beautiful charm that she had made in memory of my Mom. You know, one of those Girlfriends that make your life special and your heart smile. Thanks DebJ
Of course I have to make mention of all the wonderful blogette Girlfriends that I have met over the last three years. The amazing circle of talent that I get to visit on a daily basis is such a giftJ
So don’t forget to give your Girlfriends a hug and remember to pluck that stray hair for them J
*In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness month and forgive the Nurse speak here but, remind your Girlfriends to get their yearly mammograms and help save a life.
