The last few days I have been traveling throughout Kansas and Missouri hitting all my favorite spots picking up some treasures for the shop. The Midwest is always hot this time of the year but the humidity is a real killer. Spending lots of time in my truck with the AC maxed out and my favorite CD playing in the background, I look at the beautiful scenery. The Sunflowers are truly regal this time of year with their heads swaying in the wind providing a graceful prairie dance.
In the next few months, I am venturing into a few new avenues for the shop and myself. If my field of Sunflowers represents my dreams and goals, I have many to accomplish. Thankfully the shop has been doing very well, especially in light of the high gas prices. Denise, Phyllis and I have decided to open an online shop and sell some of our vintage inspired finds. So for the last several weeks we have been working on redesigning our website to feature our online shop. Like our retail shop, we plan on offering a collection of unique items that we have gathered on our daily hunts. Also, as mentioned in my recent post about creativity, I will be offering some of my embellished style line which includes Jewelry, Dolls and Paper Arts. I was truly overwhelmed with the wonderful response that my Jewelry and Winter Folk received from the blog post, and to think most of those were done almost 10 years ago when I was on deadline after deadline selling to shops. Now, with our new online venture, it will give me a place to offer my designs on my own terms. I know that online selling is a major time investment, but we feel that it will be a way to share our love of what we do with a wider audience. I enjoy online shopping!
