Do you ever have a day that you spend with someone special that makes your heart sing? Last Friday was such a day for me! I headed toward the southern part of my State (Ozarks) to spend the day with my niece Shelly and her daughter Emma, who is my great niece/god child. Even though Shelly is my niece, we grew up more like sisters sharing everything from life dreams to hunting for the best vintage finds.
Shelly has the most incredible house that is nested on lovely wooded acreage with beautiful gardens surrounding the land. She has payed special attention to maintaining the natural landscaping and has added small vignette's along the flagstone path for the birds and wildlife to enjoy (also humans) The moment I drove down her lane a sense of true calmness swept over me.
This little bent willow chair and bee skep looked right at home among the lush greenery.
This vintage garden goddess statue was found last year on one of our many shopping trips.
This wreath is on her front door, you can just make out the nest that a little bird is making. I wish my picture would have came out better for you to see.
Three cloches with faux spring flowering plants placed inside a iron basket.
After starting the day at Shelly's house and enjoying coffee on the wrap around porch we then hit all our favorite shops. In the middle of the day, Emma reminded us that it was time to eat so we had lunch at a lovely Tea Room. We finished the afternoon shopping and said our goodbyes then I headed back North. My two hour drive was filled with great memories of our day and the anticipation of our next visit.
