How do you shop a flea market or antique show? Do you have a certain list of items in your head and always go for those? Or do you go for things that just strike a fancy in your heart and are tickled when you come across the perfect “find.” I am a “theme” shopper meaning everything I look for seems to fall in the same color or texture category. A couple of weeks ago I attended one of our fabulous antique shows held in our community and came away with just what I was after. I was on the hunt for faded red, tarnished metals mixed with texture hence my theme for the day~
Old trophy holding patriotic crepe paper wrapped around clothes pins, faded red sewing basket and school books just seem to go together don't you think?
Vintage beaded pin cushion with metal swim locker pins on top of a old grain sack. Combining faded reds with texture adds some interest in the mix. You know I love my creams and whites but I do get a kick out of a pop of color every now and then!
The next time you go out try my "theme" shopping idea and see what you come up with:)
*Most of the wonderful vintage goodies were found at Beth's fabulous booth. Go check it out, she sells on Etsy too:)
