Today I am kicking off a blog series on ideas for outdoor decorating called Summer Settings. I will show you how easy it is to transform small spaces in your backyard with a few thrifty finds.
The first Summer Settings idea started with this vintage wicker rocker that I found for $20 at a local estate sale. I also found a small wicker table for $15 at the same sale that was sturdy and would be perfect beside the rocker. Used wicker furniture is easy to find and even easier to transform with a can of spray paint.
I placed the furniture under a shade tree in my backyard and since the wicker table had a ugly top I just dressed it with a linen tablecloth that I found for $10 at a estate sale. *Tip~shop estate sales on the last day because sometimes they lower the prices to half off or more.
I can never pass up cream or white colored plates and these were found at a thrift store for $3 each. The little glass flute was bought at the dollar store for you guessed it a $1 on the clearance isle.
The linen napkin is part of a set of four that I found at a garage sale for $2 and goes well with the lacy pattern of the plates. I added a metal candle holder that I already had to complete my setting and a fresh picked peach.
Just pick a cool place in your backyard and with a few thrifty finds you can make a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the Summer breeze.
